That bridge will end up falling in the river before the new one is done?
So, starting today at 3pm, the department of transportation is restricting the bridge into my county (which is an island) to passenger cars and regular passenger trucks only. I actually know some rednecks who are not going to be able to cross the bridge in their everyday truck (and who live in a suburban ranch home, NOT on a farm) because it exceeds the weight limit. Ambulances can only cross in a dire emergency (the nearest hospital is only about 8 miles across this bridge, while going the other way is about 40 miles on a two-lane narrow highway). The procrastination of the state is really causing a kink in the cogs, it seems. The livestock auction may end up going broke, the grain company on the river may end up moving their operation elsewhere (hence, losing tax dollars here), and people are being total idiots about this. They are actually bitching about the inconvenience! No one seems to think that in our capitalist society, how bad does a bridge have to be that the state is going to risk that many tax dollars to place new restrictions! I just hope it lasts until the new one is completed in 2 years, because we may lose our home if it doesn't (it's a very long detour to any workplace without that bridge...like 100 miles for my husband!)
Enough of that crap! I have posted a picture of my gorgeous silver locks (LOL)! I will also explain a little about myself here: I am about 1/3 Irish, have curly hair (that keeps getting curlier as I get older), yellow and green eyes, and pale skin that would be pretty if I'd listened to Daddy when he told me to use sunscreen on my freckles when I was a kid! Those cute freckles are now age-spots! Thanks, Sun, that was an unexpected gift :p Anyway, I still have some blonde left to get cut off then I'm gonna let her grow and see what happens with HEALTHY hair! I have heard tell that hair that's not dyed into submission doesn't tend to fall out at such an alarming rate, and has NICE curl....we'll see! I hope so, because I would like to be inspiration to other gorgeous gals to forgo the fake, take the plunge, and show 'em what we've got, naturally!
Also this week, one of my fellow cheer moms introduced me to Pinterest...uh oh! I have been pinning like crazy! I have all but quit reading books...I miss my vampirey, witchy, shape-shifty world, so I've gotta get back to it, but WOW Pinterest is just Wow! What a neat idea that someone had!
Okay, I've gotta go eat lunch now, hopefully I can post again, because next week I start my internship...I'm terrified!
